The mission at Branch is to create an affordable way for people and teams to build a beautiful workspace where they can feel and work their best.
As the “work from anywhere” trend grew, Doris Dev partnered with Branch to create their Desk Riser - a product that promotes good posture and productivity across various settings. Whether at your home office, team office, or working remotely, the Desk Riser elevates your laptop, monitor, and keyboard to promote better ergonomics in a stylish and portable design.
ID Foundation
Branch sought to introduce a minimal, beautiful, and affordable desk riser to their collection. During this phase, the Doris team broadened their understanding of the category and established a common foundation to begin envisioning potential brand directions. By the end of this phase, the team had a better understanding of user needs and material directions, enabling them to move into the concepting phase. Premium materials and quality were identified as the leading attributes of a differentiated Branch Desk Riser.
Designing for Easy Access and Organization
Concept Exploration
Doris Dev team proposed potential conceptual iterations to the groundwork that the Branch team had done. By the end of this phase, the design team illustrated two potential mood and experience directions.
Product Design
Enhancing Ergonomics and Functionality
We wanted to unpack soft learnings that the Branch team had collected to inform design decisions past the initial dimensions. For example, we analyzed how both laptop and external monitor setups relate to ergonomic guidelines and a general sense of how many things could fit on the surface.
Engineering
The overall construction featured a rigid plastic core sandwiched between two aluminum sheets, surrounded by two matching extruded aluminum posts. The rear of these posts extended to act as a rigid brace for the hook corner and was attached to an additional horizontal extruded aluminum foot that served as the bottom constraining feature.

The Results
The Branch Desk Riser combines sleek design with ergonomic functionality, elevating monitors for reduced strain while maximizing desk space. With durable materials, easy assembly, and a minimalist aesthetic, it's the perfect upgrade for a clutter-free, productive workspace.
