Starting with Pattern’s inception as award winning branding agency Gin Lane, Doris Dev helped them transition from a creative services business to a self sufficient brand owner. Doris Dev collaborated with Pattern and Branch Creative to build a line of design driven home storage products. Leveraging our existing supply relationships.
As part of our work, we help to build a line of beautiful products across a wide spectrum of materials & processes. (including steel, aluminum, solid wood, molded felt, polymers and leather), all while maintaining the company objectives to utilize certified sustainably sourced wood and leather were used.

Thorough Analysis to Create the Ultimate Design
Doris Dev collaborated with Pattern Brands to develop a line of home storage solutions prioritizing simplicity and convenience for the next generation of customers. These products are design-led, using premium materials and featuring thoughtful finishes. This partnership aligns seamlessly with Pattern Brands' mission to make thoughtful decisions around everyday products, ensuring each item is functional and enhances the living experience.
The home storage products stand out for their minimalist aesthetics, aiming to reduce clutter and promote organization in a visually pleasing way. By focusing on high-quality materials and meticulous finishes, these solutions reflect a commitment to sustainability and long-term usability, catering to the modern consumer's preference for both style and substance in household items.
Design Development
We worked with our design team to develop long-lasting, design-forward modular and stackable storage units for the home and office, made from multiple materials including felt, wood, and metals. These retractable, stackable, and compatible storage units were designed for easy stowage and use.

Before commencing mass production, a number of pre-production units were produced to validate the design, engineering, and production architecture of the product. Some of these units were used for regulatory testing, reliability and performance testing, and field testing purposes.

Pre-Launch Validation and Improvements for the Home Storage Products
As we took the product to the manufacturing phase, we ensured that the product specs were tested and validated in preparation of their launch to market. We revised and banded edges to improve callouts like sharp edge issues and strengthened the bottom plate for security across products like the shoe rack.
The Results
Pattern’s line of home essentials was launched to rave reviews in 2020. This included the underbed storage, multi-use bins, shoe rack, shelf divider, trays, and hangers.
